Intro

Stories for Humans

All my life I have been writing stories in my head. At the same time, I’ve been living out real stories, as a mom, wife, teacher, church worship leader, working woman, daughter, friend. I wanted to start a new blog to record some of those stories and experiences. As a long-time English teacher, I’ve been immersed in literature of all kinds. The richness of life is reflected in our stories; through others we learn about ourselves.

In my English classroom we often talk about “Universal Human Themes”. I thought of naming this blog along those lines, but settled on “Stories for Humans”, because I love stories, and humans, and the themes are implied. Universal themes are what every human, everywhere, throughout time experiences – loss, hope, the joy and sorrow of family, the wonder and agony of love, the beauty and tragedy of everyday life.

Why a new blog? In many ways I’m a different person than almost 20 years ago, and felt the need for a fresh format, a new challenge.

I hope you enjoy the content and find what you’re looking for. Your comments are welcome.
